Goodbye, Nazis

You read that right. This will be my last post on Substack.

This is a situation that I’ve been watching and trying to understand. Back when Marc Andreessen bought Substack, things have been looking questionable. It really all started to look ugly when a lot of Nazis and other white supremacists starting using Substack to spread their hate.

Substack has rules against hate speech, but Andreesen decided to just let the Nazis keep on posting.

I didn’t become aware of this until after I’d starting building my presence here and doing the important work of The Intersexion. I’ve struggled with this. Some recent discussions on BlueSky have helped me understand what’s happening.

Long story short, it looks like Andreesen is trying to use Substack the way that Musk used Twitter: sink in a lot of money to sway American politics. It certainly worked with Twitter, and it could work here as well.

So, as much as it pains me, it’s time to move on. I plan to recreate everything over there: intersex resources and news, The Intersexion, free newsletters, and paid newsletters.

I’m moving over to beehiiv. I’ll be moving my entire subscriber list over there, so there’s nothing you need to do to keep following me.
